Getting references after a company closes - 6 months and counting

My manager was laid off too and I am unsure who to use as a reference. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I have one former client who liked my work. Is a client acceptable?

A client reference worked well for me. It shows you deliver outside the company too.

Use a professional network to find a former manager. Many will still write a note.
