Getting references after a company closes - 4 months and counting

The company closed and I am not sure how to reach former colleagues. I am in Toledo, in case local advice matters. I have one former client who liked my work. Is a client acceptable?

Use a professional network to find a former manager. Many will still write a note.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
