Getting references after a company closes - 10 weeks in

I worry a reference will only confirm dates of employment. It has been a long 10 weeks. HR only confirms titles and dates. Is a client acceptable?

I kept a note of my results so my references could be specific. They appreciated it.

A client reference worked well for me. It shows you deliver outside the company too.
