Explaining a gap after caregiving or layoff (Wichita)

I have been out of work for 6 months and worry about the gap. It has been a long 20 weeks. I am not sure how much to explain. Did anyone get past it?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
