Explaining a gap after caregiving or layoff - what worked for you?

I took time out to care for a family member after working as a bank teller. Any experience at all would help. I am nervous about being filtered out. Did anyone get past it?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
