Explaining a gap after caregiving or layoff (Little Rock)

I took time out to care for a family member after working as an operations analyst. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I am not sure how much to explain.

I listed the volunteering and course under the same dates and kept the explanation to a sentence in the cover letter.

Keep your skills fresh and mention anything recent. It shows momentum.
