Explaining a gap after caregiving or layoff, line cook here

I have been out of work for 14 months and worry about the gap. It has been a long 7 weeks. I am not sure how much to explain. How did you handle it on your résumé?

I was hired after a 14-month gap. The manager said the skills test mattered more than the dates.
