Explaining a gap after caregiving or layoff - first time posting

I took time out to care for a family member after working as a procurement assistant. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I am not sure how much to explain.

A short, honest line such as 'family caregiving' is enough for most employers. They mostly want to know you are ready now.

I was hired after a 5-month gap. The manager said the skills test mattered more than the dates.
