Explaining a gap after caregiving or layoff, delivery driver here

I took time out to care for a family member after working as a delivery driver. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I am not sure how much to explain. How did you handle it on your résumé?

I was hired after a 8-month gap. The manager said the skills test mattered more than the dates.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
