Explaining a gap after caregiving or layoff, bank teller here

My résumé shows a gap from a layoff and some health issues. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I am nervous about being filtered out.

A short, honest line such as 'family caregiving' is enough for most employers. They mostly want to know you are ready now.

I was hired after a 9-month gap. The manager said the skills test mattered more than the dates.
