Explaining a gap after caregiving or layoff after 13 years as a mechanic

My résumé shows a gap from a layoff and some health issues. It has been a long 20 weeks. I am nervous about being filtered out. How did you handle it on your résumé?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 10 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
