Explaining a gap after caregiving or layoff - 16 weeks in

I took time out to care for a family member after working as a paralegal. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I am nervous about being filtered out. How did you handle it on your résumé?

I was hired after a 2-month gap. The manager said the skills test mattered more than the dates.
