Explaining a gap after caregiving or layoff - 11 weeks in

My résumé shows a gap from a layoff and some health issues. I worked as an insurance claims processor before this. I am nervous about being filtered out.

I was hired after a 14-month gap. The manager said the skills test mattered more than the dates.

A short, honest line such as 'family caregiving' is enough for most employers. They mostly want to know you are ready now.
