Contract work or permanent, which would you take? - what worked for you?

A permanent role may come up, but the contract starts now. I am in Sacramento, in case local advice matters. I have 8 months of savings left. Did a contract become permanent?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.

I took a contract and it converted after four months. The time also kept my skills current.
