Contract work or permanent, which would you take? - what worked for you?

A permanent role may come up, but the contract starts now. I am in Madison, in case local advice matters. I would gain recent experience. What would you do?

Ask about extension likelihood and whether the team has hired contractors before.

Buy coverage through the marketplace if the contract has none. I budgeted for it before signing.
