Contract work or permanent, which would you take? - what worked for you?

I got a contract offer for 16 months as a school bus driver and I am unsure whether to accept. It has been a long 11 weeks. The contract could extend. What would you do?

Buy coverage through the marketplace if the contract has none. I budgeted for it before signing.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
