Contract work or permanent, which would you take? - what worked for you?

I got a contract offer for 10 months as a welding apprentice and I am unsure whether to accept. Any experience at all would help. I have 13 months of savings left. Did a contract become permanent?

If savings are low, I would accept and keep applying. You can leave for a permanent role if one appears.
