Contract work or permanent, which would you take? (update)

A permanent role may come up, but the contract starts now. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I have 12 months of savings left.

If savings are low, I would accept and keep applying. You can leave for a permanent role if one appears.

I took a contract and it converted after four months. The time also kept my skills current.
