Contract work or permanent, which would you take? (update)

I got a contract offer for 3 months as a store manager and I am unsure whether to accept. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I would gain recent experience. Did a contract become permanent?

Buy coverage through the marketplace if the contract has none. I budgeted for it before signing.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
