Contract work or permanent, which would you take? (St. Louis)

I got a contract offer for 5 months as a quality inspector and I am unsure whether to accept. Any experience at all would help. The contract could extend.

Ask about extension likelihood and whether the team has hired contractors before.

Buy coverage through the marketplace if the contract has none. I budgeted for it before signing.
