Contract work or permanent, which would you take?, retail manager here

I got a contract offer for 9 months as a retail manager and I am unsure whether to accept. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I have 13 months of savings left. Did a contract become permanent?

I took a contract and it converted after four months. The time also kept my skills current.
