Contract work or permanent, which would you take? - first time posting

A permanent role may come up, but the contract starts now. Any experience at all would help. I have 14 months of savings left. What would you do?

Ask about extension likelihood and whether the team has hired contractors before.

I took a contract and it converted after four months. The time also kept my skills current.
