Contract work or permanent, which would you take? (Detroit)

A permanent role may come up, but the contract starts now. There are 18 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have 10 months of savings left. Did a contract become permanent?

If savings are low, I would accept and keep applying. You can leave for a permanent role if one appears.

Buy coverage through the marketplace if the contract has none. I budgeted for it before signing.
