Contract work or permanent, which would you take? (Austin)

A permanent role may come up, but the contract starts now. I worked as an electrician's helper before this. I have 3 months of savings left. Did a contract become permanent?

If savings are low, I would accept and keep applying. You can leave for a permanent role if one appears.
