Contract work or permanent, which would you take? - any advice?

I got a contract offer for 5 months as an event coordinator and I am unsure whether to accept. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I would gain recent experience. Did a contract become permanent?

Buy coverage through the marketplace if the contract has none. I budgeted for it before signing.
