Contract work or permanent, which would you take? - any advice?

I got a contract offer for 6 months as an operations analyst and I am unsure whether to accept. I have been trying to stay organised about it. The contract could extend. What would you do?

Buy coverage through the marketplace if the contract has none. I budgeted for it before signing.

Ask about extension likelihood and whether the team has hired contractors before.
