Contract work or permanent, which would you take? after 7 years as an insurance claims processor

I got a contract offer for 7 months as an insurance claims processor and I am unsure whether to accept. It has been a long 23 weeks. I have 3 months of savings left. How did you handle benefits?

If savings are low, I would accept and keep applying. You can leave for a permanent role if one appears.
