Contract work or permanent, which would you take? after 7 years as a payroll clerk

A permanent role may come up, but the contract starts now. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I have 4 months of savings left. How did you handle benefits?

Buy coverage through the marketplace if the contract has none. I budgeted for it before signing.
