Contract work or permanent, which would you take? after 6 years as a project coordinator

The pay is fair but there are no benefits. I am in Buffalo, in case local advice matters. The contract could extend. How did you handle benefits?

Buy coverage through the marketplace if the contract has none. I budgeted for it before signing.
