Contract work or permanent, which would you take? after 6 years as a machine operator

A permanent role may come up, but the contract starts now. I have 7 months of savings left.

I took a contract and it converted after four months. The time also kept my skills current.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
