Contract work or permanent, which would you take? after 6 years as a logistics coordinator

A permanent role may come up, but the contract starts now. I worked as a logistics coordinator before this. I have 12 months of savings left. What would you do?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
