Contract work or permanent, which would you take? after 14 years as a security officer

A permanent role may come up, but the contract starts now. This is my first time dealing with any of this. The contract could extend. How did you handle benefits?

If savings are low, I would accept and keep applying. You can leave for a permanent role if one appears.
