Contract work or permanent, which would you take? after 13 years as a social media manager

A permanent role may come up, but the contract starts now. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. The contract could extend. Did a contract become permanent?

Ask about extension likelihood and whether the team has hired contractors before.
