Contract work or permanent, which would you take? after 13 years as a security officer

The pay is fair but there are no benefits. I do not usually post, so bear with me. The contract could extend. Did a contract become permanent?

Buy coverage through the marketplace if the contract has none. I budgeted for it before signing.
