Contract work or permanent, which would you take? after 13 years as a sales associate

I got a contract offer for 13 months as a sales associate and I am unsure whether to accept. I worked as a sales associate before this. The contract could extend. Did a contract become permanent?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
