Contract work or permanent, which would you take? after 13 years as a dental hygienist

I got a contract offer for 13 months as a dental hygienist and I am unsure whether to accept. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I would gain recent experience. What would you do?

If savings are low, I would accept and keep applying. You can leave for a permanent role if one appears.

Buy coverage through the marketplace if the contract has none. I budgeted for it before signing.
