Contract work or permanent, which would you take? after 11 years as a production planner

I got a contract offer for 11 months as a production planner and I am unsure whether to accept. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I would gain recent experience. Did a contract become permanent?

Buy coverage through the marketplace if the contract has none. I budgeted for it before signing.
