Contract work or permanent, which would you take?

A permanent role may come up, but the contract starts now. I worked as a mechanic before this. I have 4 months of savings left. Did a contract become permanent?

Ask about extension likelihood and whether the team has hired contractors before.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
