Contract work or permanent, which would you take?

I got a contract offer for 13 months as a customer-service rep and I am unsure whether to accept. It has been a long 5 weeks. I have 6 months of savings left. Did a contract become permanent?

If savings are low, I would accept and keep applying. You can leave for a permanent role if one appears.

I took a contract and it converted after four months. The time also kept my skills current.
