Contract work or permanent, which would you take? - 3 months and counting

A permanent role may come up, but the contract starts now. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I have 3 months of savings left. What would you do?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 3 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
