Contract work or permanent, which would you take? - 24 weeks in

I got a contract offer for 12 months as a delivery driver and I am unsure whether to accept. Any experience at all would help. I have 4 months of savings left. Did a contract become permanent?

I took a contract and it converted after four months. The time also kept my skills current.
