Contract work or permanent, which would you take? - 12 months and counting

I got a contract offer for 16 months as a marketing coordinator and I am unsure whether to accept. There are 16 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have 12 months of savings left. What would you do?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
