Contract work or permanent, which would you take?

I got a contract offer for 12 months as a marketing coordinator and I am unsure whether to accept. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I have 12 months of savings left. How did you handle benefits?

I took a contract and it converted after four months. The time also kept my skills current.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
