Changing careers at 9 years into a job, is it realistic? - 2 months and counting

After 9 years as an HR coordinator I am thinking about moving into a different field. It has been a long 21 weeks. I have a little time and a small budget for training. Did you take a pay cut?

Try a small project in the new field before committing. It told me a lot about whether I would enjoy it.
