Changing careers at 9 years into a job, is it realistic? - 15 weeks in

After 9 years as a graphic designer I am thinking about moving into a different field. I am in Cleveland, in case local advice matters. My family is supportive but nervous. Has anyone made a similar move?

I began with informational chats, then a short online course, then a related entry-level role. It took about 14 months.
