Changing careers at 8 years into a job, is it realistic?, medical assistant here

I want to move from medical assistant to something with more stability. My family is supportive but nervous. Has anyone made a similar move?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
