Changing careers at 18 years into a job, is it realistic? - first time posting

My layoff made me rethink whether to stay in my field. I worked as a nurse's aide before this. I have a little time and a small budget for training. Has anyone made a similar move?

Try a small project in the new field before committing. It told me a lot about whether I would enjoy it.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
