Changing careers at 14 years into a job, is it realistic? - first time posting

I want to move from software tester to something with more stability. There are 14 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have a little time and a small budget for training. How did you start?

I took a small pay cut for a year, and it was worth it for the growth afterwards.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
