Changing careers at 14 years into a job, is it realistic? - 2 weeks in

After 14 years as a medical assistant I am thinking about moving into a different field. I have a little time and a small budget for training. Has anyone made a similar move?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
