Changing careers at 13 years into a job, is it realistic?, teaching assistant here

My layoff made me rethink whether to stay in my field. It has been a long 3 weeks. My family is supportive but nervous. Has anyone made a similar move?

I began with informational chats, then a short online course, then a related entry-level role. It took about 3 months.
